Call of Dragons Season 2 Tips

Game Tip

It's a new season for many servers in Call of Dragons! Season 2 is live, which means heroes and artifacts have been reset to level 1. It's a fresh chance to try out some new builds or tweak an old one to perfection. Despite this season's current progression, some mistakes are still being commonly made while other opportunities are being missed. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you seek to advance your own hero levels.

FROM WHAT I GATHER

Entering into Season 2, players have been confused about why their gathering heroes are not gaining experience when they return from a node. The first talent for most heroes is "Overall Attack", which increases legion unit ATK. However, the heroes you'll want to use for gathering have "Earth's Grace" as the first talent. The first point in this costs only 100 XP and is necessary for them to start earning experience from resource gathering. You can easily get these points with a Level 1 Tactics Manual or by sending them to face a Level 1 Darkling Patrol.

Another point of interest in regards to hero experience is that season 1 saw a change where deputies no longer gained experience from gathering. Gone are the days of including our fighting heroes for some quick XP by sending them out with our gatherers. However, it is still good to attach a deputy to our leading gatherers as this will help increase the troop count in a legion. Legions with higher numbers of troops can hold greater number of resources per gathering excursion. This helps expand the level of node that a gatherer can clear in a single run.

TAKE-A-TOKEN

Hero Tokens allow a player to train the unique skills a hero possesses, once they have been unlocked by way of Medals. In addition to attaining them through normal gameplay, players can receive daily Hero Tokens from both the Titan's Legacy daily chest and the Bazaar daily gifts. What some people may not be aware of is that you can click on the displayed token to select another Hero's token who is of similar quality. Switching between the tokens allows a player to strategize paths to more speedily rank up Hero skills. The only restriction is that one may only select from the Heroes that are already obtained, not Heroes yet to be unlocked.

Another bonus to take advantage of in the new season is the fact that the Heroes have all been reset to level 1. As the Heroes level up again, unlocked skills do not become active until the Hero reaches the level that pertains to that skill's star rating. If you've unlocked multiple stars, but didn't maximize earlier skill levels, you can limit your character progression to keep later skills from being open. By keeping a Hero at specific levels, using Hero Tokens will only apply to the currently active skills, even if the star level is high enough for further skills. This method will ensure that a player can fill in those missing skill ranks in an intentional path instead of randomly by the game's choosing.

HEED THE COMMAND

One last thing to be aware of with leveling heroes is Command Point management. Command Points are the endurance pool by which you can attack creatures on the map or launch rallies. If you are leveling heroes by attacking Darkling Patrols, you are consuming Command Points with each engagement. One common mistake is allowing heroes to return to the home city after each battle. Players then re-launch their armies to fight the next targeted Darkling Patrol.

If you are returning home to heal troops and then attack again, it will cost you another 50 Command Points per legion to re-launch. However, if you can continue battle without replenishing your troops, you will benefit by remaining on the map as opposed to returning home. When a legion fights consecutive battles with Darklings on the map, a deduction in Command Points used occurs with each subsequent battle. The required Command Points to attack lowers by 2 each time, to a maximum of 10 point deduction. By the fifth attack, this equates to 40 Command Points per legion versus the initial 50 Command Points per legion to attack. This savings will allow you to engage in more experience-gaining combat.

HAPPY HEROING!
